Building Castells

We used the last weekend in February 2015 for a very special activity, namely to build “Castells”. Castells (Catalan for “castles”)  are human pyramids that are traditionally being built at numerous festivities in Catalonia. Because this is a 200 year old tradition from Catalonia, we invited experts to build these human castles and towers together with us. Marta Meix Garcia (Catalonia) and Jonas Mertens (Belgium) from the group Castellers Bxl Foyer introduced us to the art of building Castells and created our first four-level human castle with us. Since that time we repeat this activity every year with great enthusiasm.
